This well-run non-profit is a United Way agency devoted to providing fully vetted and trained mentors for at-risk children throughout Mecklenburg County. Big Day at the Lake connects children from Big Brothers Big Sisters with volunteers from Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake. Our long-time picnic partner is Duke Energy, which provides the beautiful picnic grounds and staff at the Energy Explorium on Hwy. 73 at Cowans Ford Dam.
